Tarkan - No Smoking @ Frisky Radio (07-02-2007)

Since his early childhood in Frankfurt, LPs and singles were his favorite toys. His family's interest in music has played a great role on the growth of his love for music. In 1985, his family decided to move to Istanbul and Tarkan had continued playing his vinyls and recording tapes after he was coming back home from his school.

Tarkan was sponsored to play his eclectic house sets, which he sharply forms depending on the time, the venue and the crowd, all around the country. His unique mixing style cemented his fan-base around the country, where he is frequently invited to play gigs in different cities. His creativity and talent was appreciated by the crowds and he was named number one DJ in Turkey for 3 consecutive years.

Based on this success, DJ Tarkan decided to spend more time on productions, releasing tracks based on years of musical experience. His productions and remixes were included in the tracklists and charts of the world's well known dj's like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Deep Dish, Sander Kleinenberg, Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, Danny Howells, Steve Lawler, Seb Fontaine, Lee Burridge, Desyn Masiello and many more. The momentum continued with bookings from different countries all over the world and in 2006, DJ Tarkan was voted Number 78 in the world by DJ Magazine's most important poll in dance music.

Chloe Harris - Boarding Pass on Frisky Radio

Melting dubby house with techno, progressive with electro, deep house with minimal, she is able to alternate seamlessly between styles, adapting to the crowd and the time of night with ease.
She first caught the attention of John Digweed when he asked her to do a guest mix for his weekly KISS 100 radio show in March 2004. This led to a slot at Bedrock's 6th Birthday in London, and then a repeat performance the following summer at Herbal. Most recently he asked her to join him as his warm up DJ on part of his Transitions Tour in America. As for touring with John, Ministry Of Sound took notice and had her play at their Baltic Sea Sessions. Her International profile is growing with regular gigs around the world, as well as keeping a residency with one of Canada's best club nights, Focus at the Gecko Club in Vancouver, BC.

Dominik Eulberg - Heimische Gefilde

Artist: Dominik Eulberg
Album : Heimische Gefilde
Genre: Electronic
Style: Tech House, Minimal, Techno
Source: 1xCD
Label: Traum Schallplatten
Catalog#: TRAUM CD19 PROMO
Release Date : 02/04/2007
Quality : 320kbps 44100Hz Joint Stereo
Tracks : 21
Play Time : 78.02

Dominik Eulberg's latest LP collects unreleased edits of his hits, a bird techno orchestra and “the voice moderation of Eulberg himself in word and tone.” ‘Heimische Gefilde’ will be available in early April.

The album is a collection of previously unheard edits of top Eulberg tracks released since 2004, including big tunes such as "Gasthof 'Zum Satten Bass'" from 2005 and “Harzer Roller”, which Eulberg produced together with Gabriel Ananda. ‘Heimische Gefilde’ features just two new techno tracks: (clears throat) ‘Die Alpenstrandläufer von Spiekeroog’, which will be also released at the same time on 12” backed by a new cut, and the final track (coughs) “Ein Stelldichein des Westerwälder Vogelchores”, which promises to be a techno track made out of bird noises collected by Eulberg in his hometown of Westerwäld. We kid you not.

In between the techno proper, Eulberg has interspersed a series of cuts dubbed “the voice moderation of Dominik Eulberg himself in word and tone”. RA is not quite sure what that is, but with titles such as 'Adler' (‘Eagle’), 'Waldkauz' (‘Tawny Owl’) and (deep breath) 'Rauhhautfledermaus und Großer Abendsegler' (okay, we'll try out best: ‘Nathusius Pipistrelle Bat & Bigger Noctule Bat’), we really hope it is a natural science lesson from the good park ranger himself.

Nathan Fake - Drowning In A Sea Of Love

Artist: Nathan Fake
Album : Drowning in a sea of love
Genre: Electronic
Style: Leftfield, IDM, Ambient, Electro, Downtempo, Synth-pop
Catalog#: 10BCCD
Source: 1xCD
Label : Border Community
Release Date : 20/03/2007
Quality : 192kbit 44100Hz Joint Stereo
Tracks : 11
Play Time : 42.07

Straight out of the Norfolk countryside, 22 year old Nathan Fake is a most unlikely saviour of electronic music. He has been playing and writing music since he was a young teenager, and his first record 'Outhouse' was released in late 2003 on Border Community.

Since then he has also released tracks and EPs on Saw Recordings and provided remixes for such prestigious labels as Fine Records. Nathan also plays live sets on his laptop, which has seen him showcase his material in places that include Berlin, Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam.

Now returning to Border Community, Nathan Fake is set to release his debut album 'Drowning In A Sea Of Love', a truly enchanting collection of rocktronica at its finest - loaded with casio riffs, soaring fake-guitar lead lines, single live take recordings and a heap of lighters-in-the-air moments.

Containing the original live take of the psychedelic epic 'The Sky Was Pink' (prior to its remix transformation into the electro anthem of last summer), in addition to recent 7" 'Grandfathered' this is a ballsy, gutsy eleven track wall of computer-noise, underlined by a rock-solid production ethic which belies Fake's tender years.

Who needs a full band anyway? Homegrown UK talent like Nathan Fake doesn't come along every day, and it is little wonder that he is one of so many people's 'Tips for 2006': a true breath of fresh air in a dance scene desparately seeking direction, with this long awaited debut album sure to speak for itself.
